We’re back this month with the next ‘Meet the Members’ instalment! In this blog series, you can get to know our members, read about their talents, any tips they have for creatives and how they find working with the Gather Round community.

Co-Founders Bethan and Joe have been members at our Brunswick Square location for almost two years. From day one they got stuck right into the community spirit – they’ve collaborated on projects, they frequently attend our events and always have good chat on a lunch break; all round good eggs.

Can you tell us what you do and what an average work-day looks like?

Bethan: We’re a sibling duo who run The British Blanket Company, an e- commerce brand selling cosy and colourful British-made blankets. My role covers all things brand and content marketing, from emails and product design to working on campaigns and partnerships.

Joe: I take care of the operational side of things, so my days tend to be a mix of reporting, finance, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. One minute I’ll be optimising the website and the next I’ll be liaising with our mills.

Anything you’re working on at the moment that’s exciting you?

Bethan: So much! 2025 is our 10th anniversary year, so we’re working on a special limited-edition collection to mark the occasion. We want to encapsulate everything The British Blanket Company stands for – beautiful natural materials, British craftsmanship, and timeless design.

Joe: We’re also growing the wholesale and international side of the business, which is a big focus for us this year. We’ve always been very strong on direct-to-consumer sales, but we want to spread the cosiness far and wide! It’s an exciting challenge, and we’re learning a lot along the way.

Tell us a bit more about your rebrand and new range of products?

Bethan: The rebrand was a big moment for us, but it’s been an evolution rather than a complete change, but we really wanted to refine the brand and make sure it truly reflected our values. Our customers care about quality, sustainability, and design, and we wanted our branding to communicate that clearly.

Joe: As for the product range, we’ve expanded quite a bit! We still have our core wool blankets, but we’ve also introduced recycled cotton throws, wearable pieces like scarves and slippers, and more designs in the extra-long size for king and super king beds. It’s all about giving customers more ways to enjoy the warmth and comfort of natural materials.

Why did you choose to come to Gather Round?

Bethan: We’d been working from home for years, but we really wanted a space where we could separate work from home life and be around other creative businesses. Gather Round felt like the perfect fit – friendly, inspiring, and in a great location. Plus, it’s dog friendly for Scout.

Joe: It’s been a great move for us. One of the best things has been partnering with other members, which we’ve done on everything from videography to social media. The atmosphere is professional, but not corporate, which suits us.
