Gather Round Summer Party: A Double Whammy
Any excuse for a party! Here at Gather Round we love a get-together and alongside our annual Summer and Christmas shindigs, we pepper smaller events throughout the year. The seasons may differ but there’s always food, always drinks and it’s a fab way to connect over something other than a desk.
A Double Whammy
With our third birthday landing around the time of our annual summer party it felt like the perfect excuse to gather our members and celebrate together. A chance for us to raise a toast, connect with each other and kick back. Big ups to all who came! The sun shone, the drinks flowed and the pizza was soundtracked from two of Bristol’s best on the decks. Propyard’s courtyard proved to be the perfect location with wide bell tents offering shade from the heatwave and bold Van Gogh inspired graffiti colouring the evening. Local dough legends Pizzarova fed the crowds of members from Cigar Factory and Brunswick Square, while DJs Hot Buttered Soul and Admin brought the tunes.
Power of Community
A lot can be discussed in the time it takes to brew a coffee or make a cuppa in our kitchens, but we also know the importance of throwing off the work hat (as it were) and enjoying some downtime together. That’s why we’re committed to hosting events throughout the year – big and small – that give our members a chance to get to know one another, have fun and connect.
Alongside our annual parties, our monthly breakfasts fueled by the glorious Forest Bakery (find us a better almond croissant we dare you), are the perfect way to start the day. The last Thursday of every month is for setting the world to rights around the kitchen table with a cold beer.
At Brunswick Sq we offer weekly yoga with Aim2Be to start the day with a stretch and a moment of calm. Our popular Drink and Draw sessions see us gather armed with pens, paper and drinks to close the day with creativity.
These informal, come-as-you-are meet-ups are where we get to know one another on a different level.
Campfire talks are held monthly throughout the year, giving members a chance to share their pockets of wisdom with each other. From Social Media for Small Businesses from the Head of Marketing at Fiasco Design, to How To Give and Receive Feedback from Studio members The Culture Club – they’re short, snappy and informal meetings on the famous blue sofas. Coffee in hand and notebook at the ready for a relaxed and open learning session.
Our spaces at Cigar Factory and Brunswick Square are designed with co-working in mind, but we think they’re pretty good for parties and events too. Flexible spaces and swoon-worthy interiors make it a great spot for talks and workshops, as well as a good old knees-up. If you have an event that’s our kind of vibe, we’d love to hear all about it.
Recently at Brunswick Sq, the mighty crew at Enviral held an event on ‘How the Outdoors Inspires Powerful Sustainability Communications’ which saw talks and screenings take over the GR kitchen. Pirate Studios are soon to host the Pirate Office Party soundtracked by Bristol legends Try Me and DJs throughout the night. It’s gonna be a good one!
Studio Space Hire
Not only do we host workshops, events and get-togethers throughout the year, we have a beautiful Studio for hire at Brunswick Square. Screenings, photography shoots, meetings and everything in between – the space is a blank canvas for you to create your vibe. Get in touch if you have any questions!
