On a warm spring evening in Bath, a bubbling crowd of creatives from different disciplines came together under one (very high) roof to celebrate the launch of our latest co-working home: Gather Round Trinity Church.
The drinks flowed from the gorgeous Vestry bar, the nibbles kept coming, and the sense of occasion was undeniable.
The space: where heritage meets imagination
All evening, there was a united sense of awe at the grandeur of Trinity Church. It is, quite simply, spectacular. As a Grade II listed building, the space still sports the original organ, cloisters, and columns — reminders of its ecclesiastical past. But Gather Round’s signature aesthetic is woven in with style: the orange staircase to the mezzanine, the hexagonal chandeliers, and carefully considered design touches to evoke calm focus and creative energy. And that’s just it — it’s a spot that’s equal parts soothing and stimulating. Quite the formula.
Having opened its doors to members just two months ago, Gather Round Trinity is already a second home to over 100 creatives. As such, this ‘launch’ party was just as much a celebration of the space and the community at its heart. It was an opportunity to honour everyone who helped bring it to life and everyone who keeps it moving: members, suppliers, staff, friends, and family. A proper gathering in every sense.
“It sounds obvious, but just having a dedicated space to be creative is huge”, said Ben, who works with fast-growing tech companies at branding agency Wunderdogs. “Other co-working spaces just don’t hit the mark in that way.”
Robin, who runs Rednine, a branding studio for charities, went further: “It’s nice to be surrounded by fellow creatives. We’re a quirky bunch — we like our own. Gather Round came along at the perfect time for me. My business was in trouble, but this place, and the people in it, gave me my confidence back. My membership here would be the last thing I give up now.”
That sense of connection came up again and again. Laura, a freelance fiction editor (Weighing Words), discovered Trinity on Instagram. She took a tour and signed up on the spot, becoming an earlybird member. “It’s the best of both worlds — quiet when you need to focus, collaborative when you want company.” Jordan, a Product Owner for health tech firm TrackActive, agreed: You get an intuitive sense here of when to socialise and when people are on a roll. It’s rare to find that rhythm.”
Of course, none of this is news to members from the two Bristol co-working spaces. They’ve lived it. Few more so than Kendra (founder and one-woman-wonder for Writing and Thinking), who’s been a Gather Round advocate “since Cigar Factory was still a building site.” She loves the “cross-pollination of creativity” and the “consistency in how the spaces feel. Gather Round has found a recipe that works, and most importantly, it brings together good people.”
Jules, working on a tech start-up developing Digital IDs for animals, summed it up beautifully: “Gather Round touches every layer of community — a quick coffee, business advice, friendship, and more”.
Gather Round Trinity: a blossoming creative event space
As the sun dipped behind the Bath skyline, the full potential of the space for events came to light. With its wide open layout, dramatic architecture, and inviting breakout areas, Trinity lends itself to all sorts of creative gatherings — from campfire-esque panel talks to project showcases, and (of course) late-night socials. Honestly, with those ceilings, we wouldn’t rule out Olympic Trampolining workshops either!
Events Manager Hannah shared some recent highlights: noting a busy evening earlier this month for the Creative Bath Awards finalists social, plus, Bath Digital Fest choosing Trinity for two AI themed events. Public demand for get-togethers here will understandably be very high, and the adjoining Vestry bar is a great spot to whet the whistle and mingle before these celebrations of creative spirit.
The community at the core
Trinity Church has always had a blossoming sense of community. Now, as a new creative chapter commences, members have a chance to add fresh impetus to their work, collaborate with others, and feed off the energy that makes the space so unique.
This felt like the beginning of a new chapter — not just for Gather Round, but for a growing, energised, and ever-curious creative community here in Bath. There was a palpable excitement around the potential this place holds — what it can and will be for so many.
