With great creative minds, comes the need for great fuel. Come with us as we explore the best eateries and coffee houses Bath has to offer. Lucky for us they’re all a stone’s throw from Trinity Church our newest coworking space in Bath.
Think Bath, think Thermae Spa, architecture, vibrant markets and… a cafe scene that rivals the best in the UK. As we prepare for our opening at Trinity Church in Bath, we’ve decided to dive into the city’s independent scene and uncover the top spots for a great cuppa and a delicious lunch.
MILKBUN was founded by two brothers with a passion for good food & good times. Both brothers share the same ethos, utilising only the freshest of locally sourced ingredients. Their deli is just a stones throw from Trinity Church and offers delicious Shokupan sandwiches, tasty fresh pastries and carefully curated organic produce from local suppliers.
Rosario
Laidback vibes are in abundance at this Italian cafe on Northumberland Place. Diehard Sicilian Rosario mans the fort and offers up food inspired by his home. Expect rich caponata, delicious paninis and piles of cannoli. If you’ve got time and need the inspo, the Victoria Art Gallery is just over the road for a spot of culture.
Colonna and smalls
You can’t mention coffee in Bath without thinking of Colonna + Smalls. Internationally recognised and known for its meticulous approach to brewing, this Bath gem offers the world’s best beans. Whether you are after a bright, fruity espresso or a smooth, balanced pour-over, award-winning baristas serve the best. And it’s literally across the road from our new co-working space.
Mjölk Kafé
Channelling the Swedish motto of Fika – a moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life – the Nordic-inspired Mjolk Cafe encourages relaxation from the moment you walk in. Soothing interiors and an in-house bakery serving almond croissants, loaded buns and sustainably sourced coffee offer the perfect break from the working day.
Wild cafe
Wild Cafe in Bath is a local favourite and just a five-minute hop from Trinity Church. Tucked away on Queen Street, this cosy spot serves up a varied menu from stacked burgers to vibrant salads, all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Try one of their signature Eggs Benedicts whilst taking in the quirky decor or grab a panko halloumi sandwich to go.
Green Bird Cafe
A little gem tucked away in Bath’s Margaret’s Buildings, Green Bird Cafe serves up simple, delicious eats made with local ingredients. Whether a hearty breakfast is on the cards, a fresh salad or a wedge of their homemade cake, you won’t be disappointed. The interior is cosy and inviting, or on sunnier days you can nab a table in the garden.
Noya’s Kitchen
Find the authentic flavours of Vietnam in the heart of Bath at Noya’s Kitchen. The rotating menu showcases Noya’s culinary roots with fragrant pho, crispy banh xeo and lemongrass chicken to tempt. For post-work there’s cocktails, pho and curry nights and supper clubs.
Good Day Cafe
A guaranteed, ahem, good day if you find yourself at this popular spot. Great coffee and a brunch menu that hits from loaded hash browns to sweet brioche french toast. There’s outside seating for when the weather is bright, or cosy tables on the second floor. Whether you’re grabbing lunch or one of their very tempting sweet treats, Good Day Cafe won’t let you down.
Landrace
Widely lauded as one of the best bakeries in the UK (!) Landrace are pioneers of bread and bakes. The folk here take it very, very seriously and it shows. For lunch, grab stuffed buns, topped focaccias and pastries of dreams – think seville orange friands with thyme brown butter and candied rosemary. The coffee is, of course, top-notch too.
