The day Greta came to Bristol

Friday 28th Feb 2020 was a pretty momentous day for Bristol – 30,000 people descended on College Green in the midst of Storm Jorge to listen to one of the most iconic role models of our time – Greta Thunberg.
The passionate team from Bristol Youth Strike for Climate did a wonderful job of pulling the march together in just 8 days. Although the weather was shockingly bad, nothing could have dampened our spirits as we waited in anticipation for a glimpse of that iconic yellow coat.

It was a goose-bump inducing moment to experience thousands of people, young and old in awe of the 17-year old Swedish girl who set out on her mission just a year ago to inspire an international youth movement against climate change. No-one could have imagined the impact one small girl could make.
Greta spoke with strength and urgency, “Change is coming whether you like it or not”. For such a small voice, her words were received loud and clear. One of the key messages we all took away that day was, no one is too small to make a difference. Greta, you’re a truly inspiring role model for the next generation, thank you.
As Greta herself said, “we will not be silenced!” in our fight for the future of our planet.
Big love to Enviral for the awesome pics!
